Our staff recognize that caregivers are the experts of their children. That's why we focus on as little change as possible, in order to keep the family’s ideas in the forefront. We strive to minimize children's unwanted behaviors by implementing new parenting strategies.
All of our staff understand that many things effect the way each individual parents children. That’s why we offer a completely non-judgmental support to all families we work with. Parenting is hard and we all make mistakes. In fact, we know to be a better parent you have to make mistakes.
NHPS recognizes that:
All parents want to be good parents and do what is in the best interest of their child(ren).
It is important to be a positive parent and focus on strengths within the family and child(ren).
Every person in the family affects each other and themselves.
Every family is unique and what we initially suggest may not be the right fit for that family, but we have many tools at our disposal to better tailor our suggestions to that family’s individual needs.
Effective parenting is influenced by one’s past, the family as a whole, and the cultural, social, and economic circumstances in which the family lives.
